why am i running for ripple africa?

As I have continued to run over the years, sometimes I feel a lack of purpose. When I was searching for some form of purpose my daughter just happened to send me a video of a teacher in Africa who receives no income and has an exceedingly large class size. That was when I started to look for a charity that is aimed to help educate children in order to overcome poverty in a sustainable manner. No dependencies on outside organizations. I found Ripple Africa. What stood out to me about Ripple Africa was their statement, “Providing a hand up, not a hand out”. A major way to help a community to succeed is to increase the education levels of its citizens. They are giving them the tools needed to achieve a better future and sustain it on their own.

I hope that my fundraising helps that teacher without an income defeat systemic problems such as this. The ripple effect.
