A 100 more boreholes will soon be repaired thanks to funding from a generous Trust.
The spare parts have been bought and delivered to the District Council maintenance team who will be out and about in the comings weeks repairing the broken boreholes across various villages within the District.
Most people in rural Malawi do not have running water in their homes so have to walk to their nearest borehole – a simple manual pump which provides fresh and clean water.
However, when they break villages often do not have the funds to buy the spare parts to repair them so people have to walk even further to access this essential amenity.
These simple repairs really do make a world of difference to people in such a very short space of time.
You could repair a borehole for Christmas this year. Keep an eye out for the launch of our Christmas Gifts.
