As schools reopen in Malawi, we wanted to equip them with extra tap buckets and soap so the students can wash their hands regularly.
Thanks to a group from Oxfordshire, England, this was made possible. The Cowley Scrubbers, a group of 65 local volunteers led by Janie Hampton, made over 700 scrubs for local GPs, care homes, a prison, hospice etc., in the UK and donated remaining funds to a number of organisations working on Covid-19 prevention projects in Africa, of which we were one of the recipients.
We are really grateful, as are the teachers and students at the seven primary and secondary schools we support in Malawi. Thank you!
