Planting trees for his daughter

This is the first year that Yohane is planting trees and his main reason for doing so is his daughter Aliefa. 

Yohane is 21 and left school half way through secondary school as his parents didn’t have enough money to pay his school fees. One of seven children, he doesn’t want this to be a reality for his children.

He said, “My daughter has only just been born but I want to provide her with a future. Tree planting will do that and it will help protect existing trees.” 

Whilst the trees grow, Yohane continues with his farming which includes growing potatoes, onions, maize and tomatoes.
