For three and half years, this borehole was broken in Zilakoma Village. During this time, it was a race against the sun for the locals as they would walk long distances to fetch safe drinking water before having to tend to their farms.
Francis, our Sweet Potato Project Manager, said, “The delay meant hours of precious planting and weeding time were lost which affected their harvest.”
However, we are now pleased to share that we have repaired this broken borehole so that it is fully working again. Florence Mkali, one of the beneficiaries, said, “Your support didn’t just give water and sweet potatoes. It is giving us health, time and a thriving future.”
