The start of the New Year has been a busy one for our sweet potato team in Malawi.
An amazing 12,400 bundles of new-and-improved sweet potato vines have been delivered and distributed to more than 1,500 households.
Each family has eight bundles of 100 vines each and as it is currently rainy season in Malawi, it’s the ideal time to start growing. The orange-fleshed sweet potato is high yielding, rich in Vitamin A, and they taste good too!
Every year we are proud to expand this project so that more and more families and communities benefit, and households also share their vines with an average of five other families too. It really is all about planting, sharing and eating!
