At the end of June we ran an appeal as the water pump at Kachere Health Centre had broken. As a result, it mean that 100 volunteers were carrying hundreds of buckets of water from a borehole 1km away just to keep the health centre running.
With over 600 patients relying on this facility every week, including expectant mothers and newborn babies, we launched an appeal and we were amazed at your generosity.
In less than 24 hours we had exceeded the target and we are grateful to everyone who donated. The new pump has been installed and water has been restored at the health centre.
