Wait for me to come back from farming in Malawi

Wait for me

During a cookstove village visit, we visited Stella’s her kitchen but she was out. As we walked away though, we could hear someone calling from the distance. Stella was cycling home from her farm and wanted to tell us how life had improved since having the cookstove.

She said, “I have had my cookstove for two years and during this time it has saved me time collecting wood and time cooking. I am happy because the cookstove doesn’t make my cooking pots as dirty – which makes it easier to clean them afterwards. I have time to farm more, that is where I am coming from.”

Cycling two hours to her farm, Stella came back with a bundle of firewood, okra and pumpkins, ready to cook to accompany the staple food, nsima.
