Our VOLUNTEER programme is currently closed

The charity has grown from running only Education and Healthcare projects in and around Mwaya Beach to running Agriculture projects and large-scale Environment projects in five other Districts.

Therefore, after 20 years of running a volunteer programme in Malawi, we have decided to close placements for 2026. This was was not an easy decision to make but it will allow us the time to focus on these exciting project developments.

We are truly grateful for all of the volunteers that have positively impacted Mwaya and the local communities. Memories have been made for a lifetime.

Ultimately though, Ripple Africa is about being as sustainable an organisation it can be. From humble beginnings with only a few staff, we now employ 910 Malawian staff members, and 6,394 local volunteers working on our projects.

By developing and expanding our projects, we are proud to have such an incredible team of hardworking, dedicated and passionate Malawians who together, support their communities to have brighter futures.

We are still welcoming returning volunteers, donors, families and other visitors. It’s a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight into the work we do by spending time with our passionate staff and visiting the many varied projects we run. For more information, go to the Visit Us in Malawi.
