Innocent used to go to school in a wheelchair but has learnt to walk in Malawi

Thomson is walking

We are excited to share this update on Thomson. Now aged six, Thomson joined the project in 2018 when he was just over a year old.

Diagnosed with hydrocephalus, Thomson needed surgery to insert a shunt to allow the excess fluid around his brain to drain.

Since then he goes for regular checkups, and has been working with our team to strengthen his legs and get confident on his feet.

He has been attending school in a wheelchair but we are all overjoyed to see him walking so confidently which will give him so much more freedom.

How much does it cost to help children like Thomson reach their milestones? Just £10 a month provides vital therapy and support. Take a look here.
