Who doesn’t love a science experiment? We recently received funding to purchase new equipment and chemicals for the science department at Kapanda Community Day Secondary School.

This provides students at the school the opportunity to practice what they are learning as many schools in Malawi don’t have the luxury of a science laboratory.

We joined a group of Form 4’s recently on a practical lesson where they were asked to ‘demonstrate how to determine the concentration of sodium hydroxide using hydrochloric acid by filtration’.

Under the guidance of Mr Munthali, Head of Science, and Mr Chilasa, Chemistry Teacher, it was great to see the students confident in using the science equipment.

We are also grateful to the funder as this means that the students can have a full year of practicals ahead of their final exams in July.
