Francis, our Sweet Potato Project Coordinator, met with Shalotte, one of the new farmers benefiting from the project. He had planned a visit to show her how to cut and multiply the sweet potato vines as well as plant them to grow sweet potatoes.
After an initial explanation, Shalotte set to work in the field to put into practice what she had learnt – and she wasn’t going to let the rain stop her!
Shalotte is looking forward to this improved variety so that she can provide a nutritious breakfast to her children including two-year-old son called Knight.
