A little boy in Malawi is excited to see paw paw growing

Pawpaw time

The Community Fruit Tree Clubs raise a variety of fruit tree seedlings from guava and avocado to citrus and pawpaw.

One reason for doing so is that they all bear fruit at different times with some trees producing fruit quite quickly.

It is great for the farmers to see that only eight months after planting their pawpaw seedings, they are able to see the trees bearing fruit.

These pawpaw’s still have a way to go until they are ready to pick but the added bonus is that these hybrid pawpaw trees are shorter. This allows the children to be able to pick the fruit before and after school.
