Continuing our response to the Covid-19 pandemic in Malawi, we have recently purchased 13 oxygen concentrator units and delivered them to four different hospitals in three districts.
Oxygen supplies in rural Malawi are scarce and expensive so these units provide vital support for people requiring medical oxygen due to low oxygen levels in their blood.
The oxygen concentrator units, each equipped with 4 masks, were distributed to Chintheche Rural Hospital, Nkhata Bay Central Hospital, Nkhotakota Central Hospital and Salima Central Hospital. Each unit can provide oxygen to two people simultaneously.
