Meet Owen and Skip, two of the people who coordinate and manage the Forest Conservation project in the south of Nkhata Bay District.
Covering more than 200 sq.km, the two of them, along with two other coordinators Andrew and Catherine, work closely with more than 600 local volunteers on Forest Conservation Committees.
These volunteers are keen to educate their community of the importance of protecting trees and explain the impact that deforestation would have on their lives should they chop all the trees down.
Skip, Owen, Andrew and Catherine work tirelessly with these Forest Conservation Committee members to ensure that there are trees for future generations. Learn more about the project here.
