Growing vegetables is a brilliant way to generate funds to set up chicken businesses in Malawi. We work with 100 Community Clubs each year who are trained to successfully grow, harvest and sell vegetables at local markets.
The next stage of the training is learning how to operate a small chicken business from the correct feed to the vaccines needed.
This year we are running a pilot project with existing groups from other projects to see if this can be an income-generating activity for them too.
Maston, our project lead, said “We train local farmers and demonstrate how they can make a successful business. It is possible from three packets of vegetable seeds.”
