Last week in Mangochi District, Msaka Beach Village Committee, along with community police, managed to confiscate more than 5,000 metres of monofilament nets from different fishermen. Most of the fishermen were migratory fishermen from Dedza District.
Another patrol late last year organised by Malindi Sub-Fisheries Association saw two mosquito drag nets confiscated at Boli beach.
