We love sharing photographs which capture the beauty of Malawi, the communities we work with and the projects we run but today, we are sharing artwork.
Birgit Wudenka McMullen is a visual artist and art educator in Germany and the US who spent a number of years as a Peace Corp in Malawi teaching English, Biology and Computer Literacy at Kapanda Community Day Secondary School.
Living so close to the Ripple Africa headquarters, the team got to know Birgit well and when we saw her work, we were keen to share it.
Seeing life in Malawi through a different art form is wonderful, it brings alive the people she painted, and we particularly loved the paintings of our Changu Changu Moto fuel-efficient cookstove in action and one of our volunteer chalets.
Here is a small selection of her work. Keep checking back to the website as we will be incorporating more of her art on project pages.
