Veronica has seven children and lives in Kangamowa village in Nkhotakota District. She, and many women like her, face a lot of challenges due to deforestation. One being that they have to walk a very long distance to collect firewood.
Therefore, it is vital that families are actively taking part in planting trees to provide a sustainable source of timber and firewood for the future. This helps protect existing forests and allows natural regeneration to take place.
