Enelles is one happy lady. She lives in Chikumba Village and she now has access to clean, safe water.
We have been working with the Salima borehole maintenance team to get broken boreholes repaired and working again.
People can live for years without a working borehole in their village and have to spend hours each day walking to the nearest working borehole to get safe drinking water. Others resort to collecting water from unsafe sources like rivers and shallow wells.
Enelles said, “I will now have enough time to do other activities such as farming, washing clothes, and going to the market compared with before. I was spending a lot of time travelling to search for clean water.”
