Catherine is now a preschool teacher in Malawi

From student to teacher

Catherine is one of our pre-school teachers. However, before this job, she herself was a beneficiary of our Education projects.

To begin, Catherine was a pupil at Mwaya Pre-school, walking each morning to learn and play. At the age of six she went to Mwaya Primary school and during her time there, was taught by one of our trainee teachers.

She then secured a place at the secondary school we built and support. She passed her MSCE examination.

Her story is testament to why our integrated approach is so important. Those formative years are so crucial to a child’s development and being able to provide her with a safe learning environment and a smaller class size at primary school, has ensured that her hard work and efforts have been rewarded.

To be employing Catherine is a full circle moment and we are proud that she is now passing on her knowledge to the next generation.
