It is sweet potato harvesting time in Malawi and an opportunity for farmers to meet and share different experiences.
In Kamanganjuru village farmers gathered for a field day followed by cooking demonstrations. Recipes included how to incorporate orange fleshed sweet potatoes into bread, doughnuts, porridge, scones, futali and juice.
Farmers shared success stories, praising the crop’s drought resistance and high yields.
