Today really is a Super Sunday. Why? Well we are so excited to share this video of Innocent.
This lovely little four year old began his journey with our Disabilities and Rehabilitation team at the age of nine months. He has spina bifida and club foot. Doctors also suspected he had hydrocephalus.
Living in rural Malawi, the odds were against him but six operations later across the past three years and he is taking his first steps. They might be a bit wobbly but these are the first steps to Innocent living a more independent life.
Matilda and our volunteer physios have worked with his family, primarily his mother, at group sessions and at home as well as accompanying them to hospital to meet with the specialist medics.
Hard work and determination do pay, you just have to stay focused and committed. Matilda supports 120 children like Innocent reach their full potential, she is pretty incredible isn’t she?
