Katenthere Pre-school is one of our more remote pre-school’s but with three dedicated teachers, they welcome a regular daily attendance of 50 – 60 children.
The children are split into groups depending on their age and more structured activities take place including practicing letters, colours, numbers and shapes.
There’s then time for outdoor play before returning to the classroom where the children can independently move around and play at different sections including music, art, drama, nature and reading.
Play is really important for a child’s development so allowing the children to choose gives them the opportunity to use their creativity and develop their imagination.
They finish the morning with sweet potato and tea and one obvious difference here compared to some of the pre-schools located closer to the trading centres is that the parents don’t send them to school with snacks.
