Proud to be introducing two more happy householders who now have one of our fuel-efficient cookstoves. Meet Aliness and Mary.
Aliness and her family of five started cooking on one of our fuel-efficient cookstoves in May and are spending less time collecting firewood.
Aliness said, “I used to go five times per week to collect firewood, now I go once per week. I am also able to use maize cobs and tree bark to cook with. This has given me more time to farm my beans, vegetables, and maize.”
At 77-years-old, Mary is grateful for the introduction of our fuel-efficient cookstove in her village. She said, “I am older so it is difficult to travel long distances for firewood. Now, I do not need to collect as much and can still cook for my family (of six).”
Mary is using the time saved to farm more and has started a small garden by her house to grow tomatoes and vegetables.”
