Meet 62-year-old Aliness from Kajombo. This is her first year raising pine tree seedlings and she has plant about 800 seedlings in her woodlot. Despite her age, Aliness actively participates in all of the activities that are involved in raising and planting seedlings.
Here you can see a tree planting demonstration on her woodlot. Community members were trained on the correct planting techniques. Aliness said, “The trees represent a future for environmental protection and improved livelihoods for her family.”
