Beach Village Committees across Mangochi District have been installing brush parks in fish breeding areas to provide a safe place for fish to breed and grow.
Brush parks create a great habitat for the baby fish to hide from predators. The other advantage is that because brush parks mainly consist of twigs and branches, that any fishermen trying to illegally catch the fish, will end up with damaged nets. This is another simple yet effective deterrent.
