Borehole repair for Beatrice

Meet Beatrice, wife of Chief Mgodin. Their village borehole had been broken for four months which meant that she, along with all the other women in the village, had to walk an hour to a nearby river twice a day to collect water.

Unfortunately, the river water is not a clean water source. Beatrice explained that sadly, her five grandchildren were often off sick from school with upset stomachs.

Beatrice continued, “I was upset that so many children were sick because the borehole was broken. but I am really grateful (for the repair), it has changed my life.”

Organisations often build boreholes but rarely maintain or repair them. That’s where Ripple Africa comes in. We raise funds to repair boreholes and provide clean water to communities again!

There are many boreholes in Malawi that are just like Beatrice’s one. If you would like to donate to borehole repairs please kindly follow the link here.
